Incumbent and Moderate Republicans Losses
Arlen Specter
Veteran Democratic Senator Arlen Specter lost a tough primary challenge on Tuesday, falling to U.S. Representative Joe Sestak in the latest sign that voters fed up with Senators who do not represent the people. Specter, a 30-year Senate veteran and former chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, conceded defeat to the two-term congressman after a race that focused on Specter's party switch from the Republicans last year. Specter is 80 years old.

Alan Mollohan Bob Bennett Other incumbent losses in primaries, most recently Rep. Alan Mollohan, D-W.Va., and Sen. Bob Bennett, R-Utah. Shockingly, Bennett finished third in delegate votes, getting only 26 percent of the total, and Mollohan, a 14-term incumbent, lost in the polls by 12 percent.
